Stop Confirmation Of Debo P. Adegbile As Head Of Civil Rights Division Of Justice Department!

Dear Friend,

President Obama has nominated Debo P. Adegbile to be Deputy Attorney General in charge of the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice.  Adegbile's former job was to be legal counsel for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. In that capacity, he defended police killer Abu-Jamal during the death penalty phase of his trial.  Thanks to Adegbile's work, Abu-Jamal avoided the death penalty.
  
Now his nomination is being challenged by the widow of the slain officer, Maureen Faulkner, and by Democratic Senator from Pennsylvania Bob Casey who broke with Obama over the issue.
  
Some say anyone is entitled to a legal defense, but Adegbile was not Abu-Jamal's defense lawyer.  He intervened voluntarily to stop the Black Panther leader and cop-killer from paying for his crime with his life.  I don't think a man like this belongs in the Department of Justice.
