I thought NSA was not designed to eavesdrop on all U.S. citizens.REPORT COMMENTS

I want back the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Amendment. The government is out of control and has become a first class bully capable of making up their own laws as they wish.REPORT COMMENTS

In the fear-based/anger-based passion and uncertainty following the events of 9-11, most Americans welcomed or at least accepted unprecedented intrusions into personal, physical, and communications privacy. National/local security & safety systems had to be established, and societal changes in awareness occurred. Not counting ECHELON (since renamed) executively established secretly during the Clinton Administration, the October 2001 Patriot Act (Bush Administration) started the ball rolling legislatively. The momentum, scope, range, and potential domestic restriction/control impacts markedly accelerated as a result of recent NDAAs and multiple Executive Orders (Obama Administration). An international crisis or a domestic incident could initiate a series of severe constraints/cancellations of American liberties for indeterminate periods of time. Little general public nor Congressional assessment/illumination on these combined programs has taken place. Neither broadcast nor print Media have applied any sustained focus (e.g. the Vietnam War, Watergate, Iranian Hostage crisis, etcetera) on these Programs, their impacts, their need to continue/exist, lack of accountability, or their Constitutional validity. No nationally recognized person, professional organization, academic institution or public Movement is challenging/questioning these programs. As an example, the NRA is remarkably successful, partly due to its relentless focus on protecting just one single Right provided by the U.S. Constitution. Unfortunately (with the possible exception of Judge Andrew Napolitano) the First, Fourth, Ninth & Tenth Amendments (as well as the Posse Comitatus Act) sorely lack comparable advocates/defenders. In matters as important as this, silence is dangerous and constitutes assent. Injudicious use or even the continuation of these expansive/unregulated programs place America's unique/precious liberties, as well as its global position as the reservoir/exemplar of freedom, in peril.REPORT COMMENTS

Time to end the unconstitutional surveillance and the cult of "national security"...in fact, this is overdue by decades.REPORT COMMENTS
