    The Electoral College ensures that even states with smaller populations receive some attention during Presidential elections. The abolishment of this protection will ensure that the liberal east and west coast heavily populated states will elect our President.

    The electoral voting system was put in place to partially balance the voting power between the large cities (one agenda) and the vast expanses of rural areas (a different agenda from the cities) in the USA. Eliminating this system would render vast rural and farming areas of our country without any political say in who is elected to the highest office in the country. It would create a very lopsided and divisive election. Please do not allow this to become a reality.
