We all know that prestigious schools have armed guards, why not do the same for public schools? All children are precious.Apr 9th, 2014albert m. from Sun City, AZ signed.

This is the best thing we can do to keep our children safe as well and the staff of schools. Stop saying it will do harm to have guns on the police and even on our military bases. it would have saved some lives.REPORT COMMENTS

I've said for years that Gun Control will not reduce violent crime but will INCREASE it. It's a total waste of effort to try to make Liberals understand this, because facts and logic are foreign concepts to their world. Well,in THIS case, the school is "protected" by Gun Control, and,as you can see, that protection was worthless to the students. Same goes for other places around the US;Sandy Hook,TWICE at Fort Hood,(Fort Hood isn't a school, but is a Military Base, where the ONE thing that SHOULD be prolific is GUNS. Even the survivors of the FIRST tragedy there have said if they'd been carrying weapons ON the base, weapons they're TRAINED to use safely and efficiently, they could very likely have stopped the killer without other casualties. Any Politician who willfully ignores all the evidence that MORE guns in the hands of responsible gun owners equals LESS gun violence is too ignorant (I won't say STUPID,because these Anti-American paper-pushers are NOT stupid, just "Common Sense Impaired.) to be making ANY choices that affect the People of America and should be removed from office. The only OTHER excuse for their lack of logic is that they are just obsessed with disarming America so the UN can take over control of this Country, which isn't going to happen without Civil War II,if even then.REPORT COMMENTS

I am completely in favor of metal detectors and armed retired ex military or police to protect our biggest assets-our children. In my school district which is similar to many others, it would cost app. 1/5th of one per cent of our annual school district budget to accomplish this protection in our 10 schools. You would probably have to turn people down who would apply for these positions at app. $100.00 per day. The benefits would outweigh any possible negatives and give some of our senior citizens a good feeling of being constructive again. The money would certainly come in handy and improve the economy. A definite win-win all around.REPORT COMMENTS
