I am writing this on 1-2-2014. Although it is, in a way, moot to sign now, I wanted to go on record. I would also like to comment on other issues/matters. Dick Morris and others of a more liberal/big-government bent are dead wrong on the Ryan-Murray budget, the Obama socialized medicine law, GOP strategy and GOP prospects for taking U.S. Senate in 2014, among other issues. Morris, Paul Ryan and others say "we have to win elections", but then say that in order to get elected and enact conservative policies, the GOP needs to be liberal in the meantime and cave in to Dems/leftists on various issues! Dick and Paul, how does the budget cave-in get conservative/tea party and other votes? Please tell us! The '95 shutdowns did a lot to move Clinton and Washington policy to the right. And the 2013 shutdown situation, led by Cruz and others, increased the GOP's political standing and decreased that of the Dems! By caving in, you accomplish the opposite of your stated purpose. The political benefits of standing for principle on ALL issues outweigh the costs and THIS is what keeps the onus on the Democrats and helps defeat them!!! In 2012, Romney did it just the way Ryan and Morris said it should be done, and he lost!!! And conservative candidates held the house for GOP!!! Morris is nuts when he says "Obamacare" is "dead"! If GOP doesn't fight hard and isn't conservative, we could go to a single-payer system! He's also nuts on GOP prospects for '14 Senate. This won't be a walk! 1980 was very favorable for GOP and party did well, but did so with Ronald Reagan at top of the ticket and everyone following Reagan's lead in political positioning and strategy!!! Boehner and McConnell must go as leaders!!! Conservatives/Tea Party members must assert themselves! I would think McConnell's primary opponent would win general (Rand Paul did it!). Paul Ryan is not a conservative, and Ron Johnson doesn't seem to be, either. I have a question that goes to the heart of a lot of our country's problems since Ronald Reagan left office: couldn't Reagan, in 1980, have put Jack Kemp or Paul Laxalt on the ticket and simply made George H.W. Bush his coffee runner?REPORT COMMENTS
